American Vegan Center in Philadelphia

In Philadelphia, the American Vegan Center is the place to find out more about the benefits of living a vegan lifestyle. With a small shop that includes books, souvenirs, and food from local vegan chefs and entrepreneurs, their mission is to promote a compassionate, healthful, and sustainable lifestyle. They accept donations from generous businesses across the state to fulfill this mission.

Chef Lenka has worked with the American Vegan Center in Philadelphia for numerous years and provides vegan food to help those who visit learn how beneficial the vegan lifestyle can be.

The American Vegan Center educates visitors about the vegan movement and increases public awareness about the value of vegan living. Chef Lenka is proud to be a part of this movement and continues to work with the American Vegan Center to promote this message.

VISION

Taste of Vegan Gastronomy & Journey around the World is a new miniseries founded by Philadelphia-based chef Lenka Zivkovic. Not only will Lenka create delicious prix fixe and buffet dinners from all around the globe, but she will also share her personal travel experiences through stories and photos.

Every country is unique and special; local cuisine is shaped by climate and the possibility of farming, traditions, and cultural exchange. To explore this a bit, each miniseries will consist of three events-each event offering a taste of a different country.

GOAL

This project seeks to bring about awareness of one of the biggest problems facing the world today-climate change and the major role that animal agriculture plays. The main goal of each miniseries is to raise up to $450 for local non profit organizations that support veganism such as advocacy groups, animal sanctuaries, and venues that present vegan programming. Intended recipients will include-but are not limited to-American Vegan Society, Animal ACTivists of Philly, The Humane League, Peace Advocacy Network (PAN), Team Humane League Philadelphia, The KIND Institute, and The Rotunda.

COST

The cost for each guest will vary depending on the location of the event and whether the dinner is prix fixe four course or buffet. The base price for food tasting per person will be:

  • $50 plus tax and gratuity
  • $ 10 donation to the specific non profit for which the dinner is raising money
  • rent for the location

Total cost per person will fall between $65 and $75. Final prices will be announced once event dates and locations have been confirmed.
